Wireless Controller (Sixaxis):
Familiar Yet Different
The Wireless PS3 controller has a comforting familiaritiy to it, but also has some visual and some hidden differences compared with the PS2 controller. First thing you notice is that it's now a wireless setup.
Sony has redesigned the control pad for the PS3. The good news is that it incorporates Sony's Sixaxis sensing system. This system senses the movement from the player and translates it into moves on screen. This means that when you move the controller in the vain attempt to avoid something on the PS2 without anything extra happening, on the PS3 it does!
This new technology gives developers a whole new diverse uses for the controller.
The bad news on this front is that Sony claims the inclusion of rumble feedback isn't possible in the Sixaxis alongside the motion sensor.
