| Fantastic Four (PG) |
 |
Four astronauts embark on a space mission that goes wrong. The ship's owner - who later transforms into evil Doctor Doom - refuses to abort the mission during a solar storm, which electrifies the ship and its entire crew, causing radical changes to their DNA. Back on earth, the transformed 'heroes' adjust to their new powers, which are specific to their personalities.
Mister Fantastic, who lacks assertion, has stretchy limbs of rubber. Invisible Woman, who loves Fantastic but thinks he can't see her for who she really is, does a disappearing act. The Human Torch, an immature guy who is brimming with energy, can burst into flames. And finally, The Thing, a great friend who is as solid as a rock, actually turns into one - and loses his wife due to his weighty disposition. |

Jack Stanfield (Harrison Ford) is an average family man in Seattle who heads up the hi-tech security team at his local bank. But following a seemingly trivial case of identity theft, Jack's life is turned upside-down when he discovers that his wife (Virginia Madsen) and two kids have been kidnapped. The ransom? A mere $100 million, which the kidnappers, led by Bill Cox (Paul Bettany), want Jack to obtain for them via his expert computer skills. Initially compliant, Jack is soon irked by Cox and his cronies to the point where he decides to risk everything to get his family back and bring the bad guys to justice. |

| Full Metal Jacket (18+) |
 |
A film of distinctly two different halves this Vietnam story is an amazing film from director Stanley Kubrick.
The first half is a brutal dehumanising experience designed to reflect the lives of the raw recruits as they go through their basic training at the hands of the over the top Sergeant Hartman, played by real life soldier R. Lee Ermey. He breaks them all down then sets about building them back up as mean killing machines. |
